The First Camp TUMO Educational Robotics International Workshop, a collaborative initiative between TUMO Center for Creative Technologies and BOGATECH Educational Robotics Workshop of NOUTEC, where 4 BOGATECH students participated, proposed an advanced students workshop where different groups of students worked in very different projects, from building a balloon to building a compass sensor, or building remote controlled robots from NXT intelligent bricks or using a web interface and even Google voice, building robots to solve a labyrinth based on TUMO fountain, building a robot elevator, etc. It was very impressive to see how the students managed to put together different technologies to connect the LEGO NXTs to the computer using LabVIEW to send the robot's coordinates via Bluetooth and then, send these to a web server connected to the TUMO fountain to light the right lights following to the robot's path. The algorithm to solve the labyrinth based on the TUMO fountain was a big challenge by itself, and the students managed to solve it using a robot with one light sensor, always following the same wall side, and another robot with two light sensors, trying to make the right decisions at every door or dead end. The compass sensor designed with a LEGO brick worked very well and the exercise consisted in making the compass NXT to orient another robot connected via Bluetooth. The different remote controlled robots worked very impressively, especially the one driven by a web interface using Google voice recognition commands. Finally, the balloon automation worked very well, but the students did not have enough balloons to elevate the system. The workshop was a very good opportunity to allow the students work in their own areas of interest and, at the same time, to integrate the different technologies and courses they are doing at TUMO. As always, it has been an extraordinary experience to be able to work with TUMO students. Good work!

El Primer Taller Internacional de Robòtica Educativa Camp TUMO, una iniciativa de col·laboració entre TUMO Center for Creative Technologies i el Taller de Robòtica Educativa BOGATECH de NOUTEC, que va comptar amb 4 alumnes de BOGATECH, va proposar un taller per estudiants avançats on diferents grups d'alumnes varen treballar en projectes molt diferents, des de la construcció d'un globus fins construir un sensor de brúixola, o la construcció de robots telecomandats des de maons intel·ligents NXT o utilitzant una interfície web i inclús Google voice, o construir robots per resoldre un laberint basat en la font de TUMO, construir un ascensor de robots, etc. Va ser molt impressionant veure com els estudiants van ser capaços de combinar diferents tecnologies per connectar els robots NXT de LEGO a l’ordinador utilitzant LabVIEW per enviar les coordenades del robot mitjançant Bluetooth i seguidament, enviar aquestes a un servidor web connectat a la font de TUMO per encendre les bombetes adequades seguint la trajectòria del robot. Només l’algoritme per resoldre el laberint basat en la font de TUMO ja va ser un gran repte en sí mateix, i els estudiants el van resoldre utilitzant un robot amb un sol sensor de llum, sempre seguint el mateix costat de la paret, i un altre robot amb dos sensors de llum, intentant prendre les decisions adequades en trobar cada porta o cul-de-sac. El sensor de brúixola dissenyat amb un maó de LEGO va funcionar molt bé i l’exercici va consistir en fer que la brúixola NXT orientés un altre robot connectat via Bluetooth. Els diferents robots telecomandats van funcionar de forma impressionant, especialment el telecomandat via web utilitzant els comandos de reconeixement de veu de Google. Finalment, l’automatisme del globus fa funcionar molt bé, però els estudiants no van tenir suficients globus per aixecar el sistema. El taller va ser una molt bona oportunitat per permetre als alumnes treballar en les seves pròpies àrees d’interès i, al mateix temps, per integrar les tecnologies i cursos diferents que estan fent a TUMO. Com sempre, ha estat una experiència extraordinària poder treballar amb els alumnes de TUMO. Bona feina!
